Troubleshooting

The frustrating thing about computers is when out of the blue, something goes wrong. Hardware failure, software failure, viruses, Trojans, things happen. Some people enjoy the challenge of figuring out what happened. To get down and dirty and find the answer.  If you have a high tolerance for pain, can stand incredible torture, and love to waste incredible amounts of time, then you don't need me. But if you've got a problem and it's taken the last half hour of your time with no resolution, it's time to call in the experts.

The first thing you have to determine, is what is malfunctioning. Since all of the above mentioned items blend together to make up your computer system, it is sometimes hard to decide what actually is amiss. At the first sign of trouble, what you need to do is stop and think about what you have been doing on your computer over the last couple of days. If you have added a new hardware item (more ram, new printer, new scanner,...), take it back off the system and uninstall the software that came with it.  If you have downloaded or installed new software, uninstall it. Have you checked your antivirus log lately. Have you let your antivirus do a complete scan lately?  Do you have any spam, malware, anti-spy software installed? Have you updated and ran it lately?   Have you done a disk scan lately... ever? How about a defrag? Have you ever run a memory test?  I could go on and on, but the point is that computers have gotten complicated enough that quite often you need someone who spends all their time learning this stuff to help fix your problem. Also, give you some good advice how to avoid the problem in the future.  Quite a number of years ago, I used to be able to do maintenance on my car. Not any more. Now I take it to my mechanic, because that's his speciality (Barry Luff - trustworthy, reasonably priced,  and competent.)  So give me a call, I'll do my best to fix it and I'm relentless.

Viruses, Trojans, Mal-ware

Yes we do get rid of these for you. Unlike the chains, we don't just wipe your hard drive and put on a new system. If that's all your going to do, may as well look for something new.

What we do -

1. Make an image of your computer. This is a backup that puts everything into storage files. We do this outside of your operating system. That way we don't get infected.

2. We remove your hard drive and scan it with our award winning scanning technologies. Multiple times, multiple type of software.

3. We return your hard drive to your system and repair any damage from the original intrusion or things hurt during the removal process.

Talking with various people we have found that not only do we do it for less money, but more thoroughly. Plus we don't loose any of your data (documents, pictures, video, music ....
